Pinning Featured Courses to the Child's Home Screen

With more science courses, documentaries, poem recitations, and brain-teasers added every week, your child can feel spoilt for choice — and often ends up tapping the same familiar entertainment animation.

With Featured & Pinned Courses, you can play curator: pin the 1–3 key courses of the week to the most prominent spot on the child's tablet home screen.

[!TIP] 30-second pinning quick-start

  • A big feature card: Pinned videos appear as a large, highlighted card at the top of the home screen — your child starts right where you want them;
  • Two quick ways to pin: Light up the pin icon (📌) in the video list, or enable the pin toggle in the video detail page;
  • Drag to set priority: In Pinned Management, drag to decide the ① ② ③ order;
  • Combine with pacing: If a pinned course uses one-episode-per-day pacing, the card shows "Today's lesson / Done" — a gentle nudge toward self-discipline.

1. Why Use Featured Pinning?

  • :icon(star): Skip the choice paralysis: A child's attention is precious — what they see first shapes the day's learning. A pinned card means no aimless scrolling through long lists;
  • :icon(category): Focus on this week's (or month's) theme: Working on "vowel sounds" or "the universe" this week? Pin the 1–2 best collections to the front for focused, immersive learning;
  • :icon(sync): Refresh weekly with the Growth Report: Check the weekly report every Sunday and rotate next week's pinned courses — keeps the tablet feeling fresh and curiosity high.

2. How to Pin a Video

Entry 1: One tap in Video Management (fastest)

  1. Open the app and go to [[Parent Center]] → tap [[Video Management]];
  2. Find the course and tap the pin icon (📌) in its action row;
  3. The icon lights up in the brand color — the video is now pinned! Tap again to unpin.

Entry 2: Toggle in the video detail page

  1. Open any video's detail page;
  2. Find "Featured / Pinned" and turn on the toggle;
  3. Save and return to the child's home screen — the video now sits in the featured spot.

3. Managing Pinned Courses & Drag-to-Order

Pinned several courses and want to decide which comes first?

  1. Go to [[Parent Center]] → tap [[Pinned Management]];
  2. The page lists all currently pinned courses;
  3. Long-press and drag to set priority: The top 3 show highlighted number badges (① ② ③), which determine the order on the child's home screen;
  4. Unpin with one tap: Finished with a course? Tap its remove button — the video stays safe in its original category; it's never deleted.

4. FAQ & Curating Tips

Q: How many videos can I pin? What do you recommend?

You can pin several, but for focus, we strongly recommend no more than 3 at a time (for example: 1 science + 1 English listening + 1 Chinese classics). Too many pins lose focus and bring back choice anxiety.

Q: If I unpin, are the video and its playback records deleted?

Absolutely not! Unpinning only removes the video from the featured spot on the home screen. The video stays in its original category, and your child's viewing history and stars are 100% intact.

Q: My child prefers entertainment animation. How can pinning steer them?

  1. Set the entertainment category's time limit (e.g. locked on weekdays);
  2. Pin something fun-but-educational to slot #1 (like Cells at Work or The Magic School Bus);
  3. Combine with [[Scheduled Pacing]] (1 episode per day) — your child naturally starts the day with the pinned course.
