Managing Your Videos & Collections: Categories, Collections & Batch Tools
As your library grows, a tidy organization system helps your child find what they want instantly — and keeps long lists from becoming overwhelming.
This guide covers the essentials: category structure, collections, batch editing, and fine-tuning individual videos.

- A clean 3-level structure: Categories (broad subjects & own time limits) > Collections (series grouped inside a category) > Episodes (individual parts of a video);
- 5 batch super-powers: Long-press a card to enter multi-select — move to a collection, migrate across categories, export via Face-to-Face Transfer, check for broken videos, and batch-delete;
- Funnel filter in a tap: Tap the [[All Collections]] funnel at the top to instantly narrow down to one series — no getting lost in hundreds of courses;

1. The Core Mental Model: Category vs. Collection
Parents often ask: "What's the difference between a category and a collection — and how do I use them?"

2. Batch Operation Mode (Your Library Workhorse)
Imported dozens of videos from a cloud drive or Bilibili at once? No need to edit them one by one:
- Enter batch mode: Go to [[Parent Center]] → tap [[Video Management]] → choose the category;
- Start multi-select: Tap [[Select]] in the top-right (or simply long-press any video card);
- Tick what you need: Check the items, or tap [[Select All]] in the top-left;
- The bottom toolbar does the heavy lifting:
- :icon(folder): Set as Collection: Enter a new name to create one, or pick an existing collection; you can also "Remove from Collection" to ungroup;
- :icon(sync): Move to Category: Transfer whole batches across categories (e.g. move 5 courses from "Science Encyclopedia" to "Logic & Thinking");
- :icon(wifi): Export List: Package the selected courses and beam them to the child's tablet via Face-to-Face Transfer;
- :icon(search): Check Broken Videos: Runs a safe health-check on the selection to flag removed or deleted items;
- :icon(close): Batch Delete: With a double confirmation pop-up — one-tap clean-up of unwanted items.
3. Collection Funnel Filter & Quick Find
When a category holds over a hundred videos, finding one specific course takes time:
- At the top of the "Video Management" page, tap the "All Collections" funnel button;
- A drawer lists every collection in the current category and the number of episodes each contains;
- Tap a collection name and the list immediately filters to just those videos — much easier on the eyes.
4. Fine-Tuning a Single Video
Tap any video card to open its detail settings:
- Clean up the title: Online titles carry marketing fluff and heavy punctuation. Tap the edit icon next to the title and simplify it (e.g. "【4K超清全集】Cells at Work S1 完整重置版P01" → "Cells at Work Ep.1: Red Blood Cell & Pneumococcus");
- Reassign quickly: Change its category or collection anytime;
- Pin it: Tap the pin icon (📌) to push the video to a prime spot on the child's home screen;
- Updates & auto-heal: When a creator releases new episodes, tap [[Check for Updates]] at the bottom to append them. If a video was temporarily flagged broken due to network hiccups, a successful update clears the flag and playback resumes.
5. FAQ & Library Management
Q: If I batch-delete videos, do check-in records and stars disappear?
No! Video records and your child's star/medal assets are stored separately by design. Removing videos from the library never erases the stars and growth history your child has earned.
Q: Can one collection span multiple categories?
The app uses a clear tree structure: each collection belongs to exactly one category. For combined-subject courses, file them under their core subject (e.g. "Phonics" → "English Starter").
Q: How do I reorder videos quickly?
Video Management sorts by newest-added by default. To have your child watch a specific course first, tap its pin (📌) to feature it at the top, or use [[Scheduled Pacing]] to control the release rhythm.
