Emergency Time Extension (+5 Minutes After the Lock Screen)
Parenting is full of just-in-case moments: the session limit or daily quota runs out at the worst time — right at the detective show's big reveal, or with 2–3 minutes left in the story finale.
Snatching the tablet away at that exact moment can cause big disappointment and a family fight. That's why the app includes a gentle warning plus a quick parent-only time extension.
[!TIP] 30-second rescue quick-start
- Finish-the-ending rescue: At the finale, tap the lock icon in the top-right of the lock screen and verify;
- Three flexible tiers: Best choice
+5 min(just to finish the episode), plus+15 minand+30 min;- One-time only — it never changes your default daily limits;
- Re-locks automatically: When the extra time ends, the rest lock returns — no endless negotiation.
1. The Gentle 1-Minute Warning
In the final minute before a session or daily limit runs out:
- A calm, cute banner slides in at the top: "1 minute until little eyes take a rest — let's wind this up!";
- Your child gets time to mentally prepare and naturally wrap up, instead of being cut off by a sudden black screen.
2. How to Add Time After the Lock Screen
When the rest lock appears, if it makes sense to let your child finish:
- Tap the lock icon: In the top-right of the rest lock screen, tap the lock icon (parent bypass);
- Verify: Enter your 4-digit parent PIN or complete the character challenge;
- Pick the amount:
- 🌟 +5 minutes (recommended): Just enough to finish the current episode's ending without overindulgence;
- +15 minutes: For a little more science or study time;
- +30 minutes: For weekend events or holiday viewing windows.
- Resume instantly: The lock lifts and the deadline extends — your child finishes the story smoothly!
3. Anti-Dependency Rules & Family Practices
Q: Will a temporary extension change tomorrow's limits or my long-term settings?
Not at all! The extension applies only to this session; it never touches your carefully set daily totals or baseline rules. Tomorrow's limits run exactly as configured.
Q: My child keeps asking for extensions. How do I stop the cycle?
- Agree in advance: "One 5-minute extension to finish this episode — then the tablet goes back to Mom/Dad.";
- When the extra time ends, the lock returns immediately. Don't extend again — stay firm but kind, and your child learns the contract.
Q: What if I forgot my PIN during verification?
Tap [[Forgot Password]] in the verify pop-up. The app switches to an adult challenge (an uncommon idiom or a geometry question); pass it, set a new 4-digit PIN, and complete the extension.
