Online Videos Broken? Check & Auto-Repair Guide

Over time, imported Bilibili, cloud-drive, and other online videos can fail: the creator deletes the upload, sets it to private, rights-holders take it down, or the account is closed.

"Anxin Learn" provides a lightweight concurrent health check and one-tap broken-video detection, plus an auto-heal mechanism to keep your library healthy.

[!TIP] 30-second broken-video quick-start

  • One-tap check: In Video Management, tap the top-right [[Check Broken Videos]] — taken-down or deleted items are flagged in seconds;
  • Smart red flags: broken videos get a clear red label; batch-select to clean up or replace them;
  • Check for Updates heals: after network hiccups or temporary blocks clear, tap [[Check for Updates]] on the detail page to auto-remove the red flag;
  • Pacing & records keep: auto-heal or appending new episodes never touches your child’s check-in days or pacing queue.

1. Why Do Online Videos Go "Broken"?

  • Creator removed or privatized it: deleted on the source site, or the collection was changed to "visible only to me";
  • Copyright & takedowns: the platform adjusted or removed kids' content for rights reasons;
  • Temporary risk control / timeout: rapid repeated parsing can trigger anti-scraping limits, briefly cutting the connection;
  • Cloud files moved or renamed: the original file in Baidu Drive was moved to another folder or cleaned up.

2. Using "Check Broken Videos"

  1. Open Video Management: Go to [[Parent Center]] → tap [[Video Management]];
  2. Start the check: tap [[Check Broken Videos]] in the top-right menu;
  3. Safe parallel validation: a lightweight engine checks only HTTP response headers — 0 heavy traffic:
    • All fine? "🎉 All checked — every video available";
    • Found taken-down or deleted ones? They automatically get a red "Broken" label;
  4. Clean up in batches: enable [[Batch Mode]] in the top-right, tick all broken items, and remove them from the library in one go.

3. Series Updates & Auto-Heal

  • No need to re-add: open the video's detail page and tap [[Check for Updates]] at the bottom;
  • Multi-source support: Bilibili multi-part series, Creator spaces, playlists, and 2-level Baidu Drive courses all sync in one tap;
  • Smart appending: new episodes are compared with the source and appended to the end — pacing progress untouched;
  • Auto-heal: if a video was earlier flagged broken due to a network blip, a successful Check for Updates automatically clears the red flag and playback is restored!

4. FAQ & Local Fallbacks

Q: Why did an online video that worked before suddenly stop playing?

Check the 4 causes above. The most common: the creator set it to fans-only or deleted it. If you want zero takedown risk, save favorite classics as local videos or into your private Baidu Drive folder.

Q: Does the one-tap check eat a lot of mobile data?

Not at all! It uses the standard HEAD request and API status codes — only a few dozen bytes of status text. No actual video is downloaded, so it's safe on mobile data.

Q: A science course I loved was deleted at the source. Can I save it?

If you find the MP4 file elsewhere, add it via "Local Video" or re-upload to Baidu Drive and import again. Your child’s learning progress and stars stay fully intact.
